The Stanzas on Vibration — foundational verses of the Spanda school of Kashmir Śaivism, traditionally attributed to Vasugupta. Sanskrit root only in this corpus (English translations exist elsewhere).
Textual history
The Spanda Kārikās distill the doctrine of spanda (creative vibration) associated with Vasugupta's Śivasūtra revelation. Attribution varies in the tradition: some Kashmiri lines credit Vasugupta, others his disciple Kallaṭa. The verses became a core Spanda root text, later commented by Kṣemarāja and folded into Abhinavagupta's Trika synthesis.
